Reaping the Informational Surplus in Bayesian Persuasion
نویسندگان
چکیده
The Bayesian persuasion model studies communication between an informed sender and a receiver with payoff-relevant action, emphasizing the ability of to extract maximal surplus from his informational advantage. In this paper, we study setting multiple senders in which is restricted choosing, at interim stage, one whom interact. Our main result that whenever are uncertain about each other’s preferences and, particular, cannot dismiss certainty possibility others aligned receiver, receives all equilibria. (JEL C72, D82, D83)

Bayesian Persuasion
When is it possible for one person to persuade another to change her action? We take a mechanism design approach to this question. Taking preferences and initial beliefs as given, we introduce the notion of a persuasion mechanism: a game between Sender and Receiver defined by an information structure and a message technology. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a ...

2590 Suppose one person, call him Sender, wishes to persuade another, call her Receiver, to change her action. If Receiver is a rational Bayesian, can Sender persuade her to take an action he would prefer over the action she was originally going to take? If Receiver understands that Sender chose what information to convey with the intent of manipulating her action for his own benefit, can Sende...

Case Presentation (Michael H. Kim, MD) A 77-year-old woman was brought to a community hospital emergency room after an episode of syncope. She had been seated at the table and had passed out for '2 minutes. She had a history of hypertension, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and an abdominal aortic aneurysm repair 10 years earlier. She had no complaints immediately before the syncopal episode. Wh...

This paper studies an extended Bayesian Persuasion model in which multiple senders persuade one Receiver sequentially and the subsequent players can always observe previous signaling rules and their realizations. In the spirit of Harris (1985), I develop the recursive concavification method to characterize the Subgame Perfect Equilibrium, which summarizes the multiplicity of possible strategic ...

1 Persuasion mechanisms In this paper we study a particular game where Sender chooses a signal π whose realization is observed by Receiver who then takes her action. In Subsection 2.3 we made an observation that Sender's gain from persuasion is weakly greater in this game than in any other communication game. In this section of the Online Appendix we provide a formal statement and proof of this...
